Case Description

The police showed up on my doorstep, on July 19th at about 1 am, for like the 4th or 5th time in 6 nights. The officers told me they were looking for somebody, but would not tell me who, i told them it was me and my buddy. The police asked to come in and check the house, i said i would appreciate if u got a search warrant, because they had been at my house so much, and i had let them in every time. The officer opened my screen door, put his hand on my chest, and pushed me out of the way and walked past me into my house, saying he did not need a warrant and proceeded with a search of my house. They found less than 2 grams of Hashish laying under our pizza box, not visible to anybody and took some paraphenelia as well. We spent the night in jail, which also cost me my job as well. Also would like to mention that i told the police officer\'s that it was all mine and it had been given to me as a gift, for all the stress i had been under by the police coming to my door every night. And they charged both me and my friend with possesion and a $500 fine.
In short, I had the hashish, but think that our human rights were definitely violated in a huge way, I asked for a search warrant 3 times, they basically tryed to interrogate us, harassed me for the last year and a half, and endangered our lives cause we also asked for a seat belt numerous times and refused us both.
We have been offered mediation, but are unsure if we will be satisfied by just mediation. This is a personal statement but i as well as a lot of other people, believe the Saskatoon City Police on occasion, just take the law into there own hands, as also seen in the media. I need a good lawyer who will look at this case.
