Case Description
In the early hours of the morning a friend and I were on route to her home when my car skidded on black ice going around a bend. I hit a hydro pole and did some damage to my passenger side. The car was still drivable and we both shaken up a bit so we carried on to her house. Panic set in that I had "left the scene of an accident". I am a college student in her final year and didn't want any marks on my record. I called the police and said I had been in an accident and they said they would send an officer out. My friend and I then extrememly upset and scared drank 3 beers each while waiting for the officer. My concern was leaving the scene but the officer that arrived was adament about taking me to the station for a breathalizer, which he did. I blew over of course and was then charged with impaired driving.
