(line runs, like greyhound and Go transit)
We are forced to work 58 hour weeks consistently. We have a union ATU 1624 and despite a lot of drivers complaining, nothing is being done. We get paid overtime averaging over the time of 3 months. This means if you work overtime for 2 and a half months, and then you get sick you will not receive overtime for the 2 1/2 months because you've brought the average down.

Our main complaint is 58 hour work weeks are not a lifestyle we want.

some drivers in the same division get away with 36 hour work weeks with the same pay, and this is because of their seniority.

We all acknowledge seniority to dictate better work weeks, but not to the extent of an additional 22 hours a week, for the same pay.

Our union is weak, and they often do not response to complaints.

We've filed a grievance but have been told that it is what it is.

We would like to see if they are breaking any laws by forcing us to work 58 hour weeks (for a minimum of 3 months at a time or longer)

I am told Our company falls under federal labour law and not provincial.
