Getting my name on the house

Description

Law Type:Wills, Estates, Trusts
Location: Pickering, Ontario
Specific Issue: Estate Planning

Case Description

My husband and I have been married for almost seven years now and I been procrastinating to get my name on the deed of the house. Our mortgage is paid off. All the bills and the house are in my husbands name alone. to the deed of my house. The house was purchased prior to our marriage. As far as I know my husband does not have a will and we have children. In the event of my husbands death and in order to avoid probate or b/c it is a matrimonial home it will need it be transferred to me automatically. I am looking for some clarification and advice if I really need to add my name to the house or not b/c my husband doesn't think I need to.
