Case Description
I was arrested with impaired driving on Friday night while I wasn’t even in control of the vehicle. I did drive to the gas station and when I came out from the gas station, I got arrested for impaired driving and my car was blocked by the police officer’s car. They didn’t ask me for a breathalizizing test nor offered my one at the police station. I wasn’t also aware of my charter rights, because they didn’t mention them as well( that I can contact a lawyer in particular). In the morning when they let me out, they gave me a promise to appear in court in April. When they impound my car, they told me I could pick it up on Saturday. Today, I went to the place to pick my car up and they told me that they impounded for 30 days, which I wasn’t even aware of. However, it was stated in the paperwork, but it was in French and I had no idea what it said. So, I really don’t know what to do right now and what are my rights regarding the car and criminal charge for impaired driving. I know I need a lawyer, and one from Quebec even though I am a Ontario citizen.
