Case Description

My wife and I seperated as of January of last year on grounds that she was commiting adultry. After trying to work it out several times including seeking counseling, we decided to ultimately divorce. We have three children to think about. To avoid costly court costs and legal fees, we decided to try a deivorce kit come our 1 year seperation. I have come up with terms associating with support and custody. she deems them unfair, and instead of negotiation, wants me to seek legal assistance. I am in favour of keeping cost down and getting everything over with. I believe this will be easier on us, our kids, and everyone else involved. however, I wish to stand up for my rights and the rights of my children. I am wanting to move back to my home province of British Columbia, as she wishes to stay in Alberta. I decided I want a joint custody arraingement, making us both guardians of the kids, and giving us equal rights of determining major decisions regarding the kids. as well, I am wanting to pay a set percentage of my income instead of a set amount. as well, I am wanting a percentage of my support to go into an education fund as well as another percentage to go into extra curicular activities such as sports and related activities. As well, I am wishing to have the kids about one third of the year, give or take including weekends, summers holidays and other holidays, providing it does not contradict with any school and activities they have. She deems this unfair and will not negotiate on the topic, instead decideing to out right argue that is unfair and illegal. I believe I am trying to do what I deem as fair to myself, my kids, and my family; being as such my children\'s grandparents and aunt, my sister. So, I am now asking for some advice, and if legal assistance should be needed how can I go about it, without going broke.
