My landlord is suing me for a month where I was locked out of my unit.

Case Description
When moving out of my apartment I had given notice to vacate by July 1st 2009. I had innitially moved out May 1st 2009 but was preparred to pay any rent owing. I was using the apartment to house a few things throughout the transition of my move. On June 1st 2009 at 12am I received a call from my previous superintendants requiring me to remove all my belongings by Noon June 1st 2009 and they were changing my locks on the apartment. My partner Patricia Green went to retrieve the rest of our things at 11am June 1st 2009. The locks were already changed. We are paid up in rent up until the end of may 2009. Now our old landlords are suing us for June 2009 rent, when we had no access to the apartment and were already locked out. I need some legal assistance, because they are taking me to court.
