Case Description
I was sent a letter from the cra - I am being assessed under the subsection 160(2)of the income tax act. Here\'s the story: my biological father( not legally my father)came into my life approx 6yrs ago; anyway while I was in university completing my nursing degree,I was finacially struggling, and my \"father\" paid my rent for approx 2yrs and paid my credit card debt of approx $1000,00. Apparently he owes revenue canada tax money -I\'m not sure how much he owes because I have not been able to get a hold of my \"father\" for about a year. In essence,the cra is claiming that my father was paying my bills with their money and they want their money paid back. Can the cra actually go after me for this money?
