About Me

Philosophy & Personality
  • What attracted you to the law as a profession?
  • The intellectual challenge.

  • Why did you select your primary practice focus?
  • Tax was always my interest, hence the career path of C.A. then law school. Tax law provides the opportunity to help taxpayers and provides a creative field of law to work in.

  • Tell us the story of your law firm. What does your law firm do best?
  • We are a boutique tax and business law firm. We provide all the law a small business or individual needs. We do the same work as the large firms but at competitive prices.

  • How has your education and work experience prepared you for the reality of your work?
  • Tax law has been my focus since I finished my undergraduate commerce degree.

  • How do you and your firm provide superior services to your clients?
  • Since we are a small boutique firm we provide more personalized service. We focus on tax and business law and are not generalists, but specialize in what we do.

  • Describe your personality and style as a lawyer?
  • I\'m very business like and focused. I quickly analyze the issues and suggest solutions to the problems. I delegate most work to my associates to keep costs down, and supervise what they do.

  • What's the most difficult and challenging part of your job?
  • Dealing with clients who have missed the 90 day period to file a Notice of Objection to an assessment. It becomes very difficult to deal with old tax situations. What makes you the happiest about your job: Reducing or eliminating tax liabilities.

  • What makes you the happiest about your job?
  • Reducing or eliminating tax liabilities.

  • What do you most want clients to understand and appreciate about you?
  • I firmly believe that everyone should legally pay the minimum tax possible. I also believe that where cost justified taxpayers should challenge incorrect actions by the Canada Revenue Agency.

  • What are your favorite activities and passions after work?
  • Cottage; canoing; listening to music; reading; nature & landscape photography; star gazing.
